ABOUT KAYLENE DAHL

Kaylene Dahl is a lyric soprano praised for her “opulent and vibrant tone”, and is an active performer and teacher throughout her native South Florida area.
Kaylene has performed scenes from various operas and has sung roles including Zerlina from Don Giovanni, Susana from Le Nozze di Figaro and Johanna from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Equally at home in the musical theatre repertoire, Kaylene has sung musical theatre roles such as Rizzo from Grease and The Narrator from Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat. In 2018, Kaylene premiered two arias written by contemporary composer Scott Wheeler as part of Lynn University’s New Music Festival. Solo concert credits include Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit Pour Noel and Handel’s Dixit Dominus.
Kaylene maintains an active private voice studio and is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. In addition, Kaylene is 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher and frequently likens yoga and meditation practices when teaching. Read more about her teaching philosophy and experience below!
Ms. Dahl holds degrees from Florida Atlantic University in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy.

VOICE AND PIANO INSTRUCTION IN THE SOUTH FLORIDA AREA
Kaylene Dahl has been teaching voice and piano for over 10 years. She has prepared students for various college auditions as well as BAK Middle school of the Arts and Dreyfoos High School of the Arts Auditions. Kaylene has prepared students for Solo and Ensemble adjudication and Thespian Festival adjudication. Her students continue to be active in their community theater programs and have been accepted into prestigious summer training programs. Kaylene also currently teaches piano and voice at the Pine Crest School in Boca Raton.
During lessons, students can expect a well rounded musical experience including an emphasis on sight singing and ear training, a healthy production of sound, and audition tips and best practices. Kaylene encourages a sound technical approach to singing rooted in classical technique so that the student may feel comfortable singing any genre safely. Kaylene is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and has attended various training programs in order to teach all styles of singing more safely. Kaylene was recently chosen as a recipient of the Joan Frey Boytim Award for Independent Voice Teachers through the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Kaylene has also attended various vocal pedagogy workshops, including the CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah Conservatory. Kaylene is a self proclaimed "belter turned classical singer", and takes a special interest in teaching contemporary and musical theatre styles safely.
